Mary Marilla Erickson (1905-1983) Professor Emeritus at UC Santa Barbara, teaching native plants, vertebrate natural history and anatomy (1939-1983). Mary Erickson was the first female graduate student at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology (mvz.berkeley.edu) at UC Berkeley (1934). She served with distinction as a Teaching Fellow under the direction of Joseph Grinnell. Many historical publications of the MVZ are in this collection, some from Joseph Grinnell’s personal library.
